Twenty-five years is a long time. Especially if you think about the technology used 25 years ago. For Think Tank Network Technology Group founder & CEO James Gagan, it’s been a whirlwind, as his Merrillville-based company evolved with the industry to help businesses build, manage, and protect their technology systems.

While a great majority of Think Tank’s clients are located in the region, Chicagoland, and the Midwest, advances in the industry have made supporting it even easier from afar. HelpDesk, one of Think Tank’s proprietary software products, is a support ticketing system that’s been wildly popular with school systems, and is currently being used by a client in Iceland.

So how does Think Tank adapt to the ever-changing technological landscape?

“We definitely stay at the forefront of emerging business solutions — we have to,” says Gagan. “But the constant for us has been a fanatical commitment to excellent customer service.”

It’s easy to see that commitment at work at ThinkTank’s headquarters. The office is buzzing with support staff. On the wall, a giant photo of a young boy standing proudly in a super hero costume, with the tagline “Techs so good, they should wear capes.” Gagan recounts one of his most successful marketing taglines – “We show up.”

“Sometimes in our industry, people become secondary to technology,” says Gagan. “We’ve never shifted our focus from our customers, their goals, and their satisfaction.”

That focus on the human side of business technology has earned Think Tank NTG rave reviews with clients.

“Network uptime and access to our data is mission critical,” says a local fire chief who has depended on Think Tank NTG to assist with their network. “We can’t afford to be down. Think Tank monitors our network 24/7 to provide us with great uptime and proactive service. We trust them to keep us up and running.”
